Nah finally. It's been a long time since I post about something that I created not just telling this blog readers about something that I like, because that's what the early purpose of this blog. As a sharing media of the crafts I make.

One thing that makes me kinda lazy filling up this three-years-old blog is that some people I follow who have a very interesting blog seems to have lost their interest in blogspot. Every body is tumblring right now, but I still prefer a blog than a tumblr, because in a blog you rarely repost something and really write for your blog. A blog shows the personality of the writer more. So please keep writing, and I am saying this because even I rarely post something in blog I always searching for inspiration to fill my blog.

So here it is something that really satisfied me when it was finished. I love books, and being able to make one made me proud. Actually it's not book, it's notebook. Eheheh.

It all began when I found some of my college friends made notebook themselves in the last semester. Since I'm studying in the department of architecture which doesn't require much writing, a notebook is enough for a semester or even more. And when I got the result of last semester GPA which wasn't satisfying, one thing that popped up in my mind was: I have to make a notebook on my own to help boast my academic performance.

At first I intended to bind the book using spiral wire. I used the duplex leftover from my college assignment as the material for the notebook cover. Since I took a sewing lesson about six moths ago, I have some beautiful fabric left, and I used my favourite fabric to cover the duplex. I brought the finished decorated cover and the papers inside to the printing office but none of them even the big ones refused to bind my notebook using spiral wire. The said the material I used for the cover was too thick and the fabric finishing made it harder. And the worst part was they refused without even trying to put it on the machine. Frustrated, I went home but I still believed that I would get this notebook done, whatever method I used to bind this notebook.

I remembered about a year ago I found some book binding tutorials on youtube, but I didn't try it. And yes I found a lot of youtube tutorial videos which explains step by step to bind a book. But I had to be careful choosing which binding style I used, because I had always wanted a notebook which can openly full, like a sketchbook binding, so I can draw and write freely.

So my choice fell on the Coptic Style  Book Binding which bind notebook the way I wanted. I watched these two different videos (you can check this one and other out), because I thought these videos complete each other. After three days in the making, this beloved notebook was finished, and I was really proud about this!

The left side of the book shows how the woven thread bind this book, and I think that's what make this notebook unique. And you can see that this notebook contains two different papers

You can see from the last picture that this notebook contains two different kind of papers and they have a little bit different colour : the standard Kiky Sketchbook, and the other is Canson water colour paper. I combined these papers in one notebook because I don't have to carry two different books everywhere. Anyway lately I loose my hobby of sketch journaling, I rarely fill my journal anymore. Maybe combining two function in one book, can make me sketch again.

Everyday when I get this my notebook out from my bag to be filled with, I always remember the intention I had in the making. This book is a representative of hopes I had early this semester, quoting an Islamic term, being an istiqamah learner.

This is my first tutorial. Huoooo... This origami Box in a Box was originally Akiko Yamanashi's work. I got the tutorial from here. But it was confusing, so after I figured out how to make this, I managed to make the tutorial on my own and shared it with you guys. Besides, this origami box is useful for everyday life, don't you think?

You need simply a rectangular piece of paper and a ribbon.

First, make a cub board fold.

Fold the edge more than the cub board fold's mark. (See the picture carefully)

Do the same thing to the four paper's edges.

Repeat the cub board fold again.

It's finished. You can fill them with sweets or chocolate. Well basically anything that fits.

Wrap it with a ribbon to make it prettier.

Pas liburan, aku iseng-iseng browsing, nemu gaya rambut yang namanya waterfall braids. Pas masuk sekolah, aku praktekin ke rambutnya Bibul (teman sebangkuku). Awalnya gagal sih, tapi percobaan kedua sudah lumayan bagus. Sejak saat itu, aku sering ngepangin rambutnya Bii...

Hari Kamis kemarin pas lagi kumpul-kumpul bahas suatu acara di pendopo besar. Tiba-tiba tanganku gatel ngeliat rambutnya Enok, hihi. Akhirnya aku bikin gaya waterfall. Diluar dugaan, anak-anak jadi lumayan heboh. "Kok bisa Em?", "Eh aku juga mau dong", "Jangan-jangan kamu yang biasanya ngepang rambutnya Bibul?"

Terus siangnya, Enok cerita. "Em, tadi aku sampe diliatin sama adek kelas. Aku pindah tempat, dia juga ikutan, sambil nunjuk-nunjuk rambutku gitu." Hahaha.

Di luar dugaan, besoknya. Ada kakak kelas yang barusan lulus yang lagi main di sekolah, pas ngeliat aku dia langsung bilang, "Pe-eeem, yo ajarin aku kepangannya Enok." Wah, aku kaget lho pas itu. Tapi aku mau makan dan udah ditunggu temenku jadinya gak jadi deh. Hehe

Yang mau belajar, main ke dua belas tujuh aja. Kalau lagi nganggur dan gak galau tak ajarin kok :P

I bought these shoes about 6 months ago or more I forget. I used to wear Crocs in Junior High School, the first year of High School, and early in the second year. My first crocs for school weren't broken, the reason why I brought the new ones just because those shoes' sol were too smooth, and I had to walk so carefully almost everyday! But unfortunately I'm not allowed to wear the new ones. It's against the school's law. So after since, I wear these shoes to go to Kelt, Mall, beach (because it's rubber, so easy to wash), etc. But still, I always think that these are too boring, since it's black.


Suddenly, I got an idea to modified these shoes using clay. I have an imported clay products from Japan at home. They're much easier to form, and water-resistant. So I used one of them to make a ribbon for each shoes. I planned to make flowery shoes actually, but ribbons are cuter. I used glue gun to stick the ribbons.
